* What is a DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the yarn used to make stockings and tights.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the finer and more transparent the stocking or tight. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker it is and the less the skin is visible.

There are also opaque microfiber stockings and tights in 50 and 100 den, where the skin is barely visible. These are commonly worn in the autumn-winter season.

Stockings and tights with low DENIER numbers are typically used in the spring-summer season. They can also be worn throughout the year, for example at ceremonies, as the fineness of the stockings makes them more elegant.
