* What is a DENIER?
A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the thread used to make stockings and tights.
The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the finer and more transparent the stocking or tight. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker it is and the less skin is visible.
Additionally, there are opaque microfiber stockings and tights in 50 and 100 denier, where the skin is barely visible. These are typically worn in autumn/winter.
Stockings and tights with a low DENIER number are usually worn in spring/summer but can be used year-round, for example at ceremonies, as their fineness makes them more elegant.
Higher numbers (40, 70…) are generally used in autumn/winter.
