* What is a DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the yarn used to make stockings and tights.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the finer and more transparent the stocking or tights. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker and less skin is visible.

There are also opaque microfiber stockings and tights in 50 and 100 denier, which barely reveal the skin. These are typically worn in autumn and winter.

Stockings and tights with a low DENIER number are usually worn in spring and summer. They can be worn year-round, for example at ceremonies, as the fineness of the stockings makes them more elegant.
