* What is a DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the yarn used to make stockings and tights.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the finer and more transparent the stocking or tight. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker and less skin is visible.

There are also opaque microfiber stockings and tights in 50 and 100 den, where the skin is barely visible. These are typically worn in autumn and winter.
